As promised please find below some of the key information from your assembly this morning.

Exam Support

It is now one week until the start of the main Summer exam season with the first exams, Computer Science and RE taking place on Monday 14th May.  During the 5 weeks of the exam season you will continue to receive the normal support from staff and in addition there will be:

  • Support from 7.30am for all morning exams in the relevant subject area

  • Specialist subject support from 11.15am – 1.00pm is timetabled for all afternoon exams followed by an early lunch

  • Extended core (English, Maths & Science) revision sessions built into your timetable

  • Core revision sessions replacing your normal timetable from Monday 21st May

Full details of this information is shown on this poster.  Hard copies of this poster will be distributed via your tutors next week.

Please also note:

  • Registration will be as at present except on days when you have an English, Maths or Science exam in the morning - on these occasions you will complete your final revision in the JMC, Maths or Science blocks respectively

  • The 'entry window' opens 10 minutes prior to the exam time on your individualised timetable.

  • A small number of students have ‘clashes’ with their exams e.g. Music and Business takes place at the same time on the 6th June.  These students will sit one exam, have a short isolated break prior to sitting the second exam.

  • It is your responsibility to arrange transport home when exams are due to finish after 3.00pm.

  • On Friday 25th May you have your final English Literature exam in the morning.  To support you in preparing for your future exams we are offering you (and your parents) the choice for you, if you do not study textiles,  to leave school after this exam and to begin your May half term or to stay in school. Maths and English revision will be available as set out on the overview poster.  If you would like to leave the site after the exam we MUST have agreement from your parents through them completing the short form that will be sent via ParentMail early next week.

If you have any questions about any aspect of this timetabling please speak to your form tutor in the first instance.

Equipment: Chromebooks, Textbooks & Uniform

  • You will receive a letter next week regarding the next steps regarding your Chromebooks.
  • Please return any textbooks at the end of your final exam by leaving these at Student Reception or directly with the relevant teachers.  You may also wish to donate your school jumpers to be used during the next academic year with these simply being left on the back of your chair at the end of your final exam.

Celebration Assembly:

The votes will be counted and verified next week for your tutors to then reveal the Class of 2018 award winners in your celebration assembly on Tuesday 19th June 1.00 - 3.00pm.

Please note the following:

  • On arrival please assemble with your tutor in the Maths block

  • Following a short time with your tutor Mrs Hunt will ask one form at a time to make their way to the main hall for the assembly.

  • The assembly has a formal start and you are asked to wear uniform appropriately or risk not being allowed entrance

  • Shirt signing is a tradition at WPS but we ask that students wait until the end of the assembly - time will be provided!

  • Please also think ahead - many of you have exams beyond this date and will need at least one 'clean' shirt!

  • The assembly will finish in time to allow you to catch the normal school buses home

  • If you have ordered a hooded top it is hoped that these will be available for collection on this date

Exam Results Collection

  • If you are not able to collect your results in person, you may nominate someone to collect them on your behalf. To do this you will need to complete the short form that will be available next week from Student Reception.

  • On the day, the person nominated will need to produce photo ID to collect these results.
